Ash Allanson and Will Waudby have left Brid Town with immediate effect.
Chairman Pete Smurthwaite said on Allanson: “Ash contacted myself earlier this week and informed me had had decided to leave our club to pursue a player/coaching role at Hall Road Rangers which I have agreed to and are waiving the usual 7 day notice for the transfer.
“On behalf of the management, committee and all concerned with this club I would like to thank Ash for his loyal service after the past 8 seasons. In this period he has been an influential player in the success we have had winning a league title, runners up medal and three times winners of the East Riding Senior Cup.
“Unfortunately injuries last season prevented him from making many appearances but he was still there at most games supporting the team and helping behind the scenes to pass his knowledge onto the younger players in the squad. He has been a pleasure to work with and I hope he can help Hall Road Rangers to a successful season resulting in promotion back into the Premier Division.”
Waudby posted about his departure on Facebook, saying: “Its been a long and hard decision to make but its time for me to move on from the club, I started playing for nearly 3 years ago, they brought me into playing in this league and have improved me massively over the years and this has gained me so much more experience in the game.
There are many people I would like to thank first of all the managing staff Wayne Lewis, Gary Allanson, Danny Brunton and all the staff at Bridlington Town Football Club also I would like to thank Pete Smurthwaite for looking after me the way he did.
A big thanks to all the lads and for making my time here a laugh and gave me the confidence I needed and last but not least id like to thank Dave Jordan for sponsoring me through all the years. I would like to wish Curtis Woodhouse and all the lads the very best in the rest of the season! Thanks again Bridlington Town Football Club.”
We wish them both the best of luck in the future.
